About Peculiar Honeybee Products & Services

Peculiar Honeybee Products and Services (PEHOPs) is a registered commercial honeybee farm based in Mitundu Trading Centre, Lilongwe, Malawi.

We specialize in honey production, beekeeping solutions, and agricultural sustainability. As a social enterprise, our work goes beyond business. We actively contribute to climate change mitigation, poverty reduction, and women’s economic empowerment.

We currently work with over 850 underprivileged households, the majority of which are female-headed, helping them build sustainable livelihoods through beekeeping and related activities.

To contribute to climate change mitigation and economic empowerment by promoting eco-friendly beekeeping, sustainable agriculture, and inclusive business opportunities.

Empowering Women

As a female-led enterprise, PEHOPs is deeply committed to empowering women. We provide training, employment, and business opportunities that enable women to become financially independent and active contributors to their communities.

Community Development

Through training programs and partnerships, we have directly trained over 5,000 individuals, equipping them with practical skills in beekeeping and agribusiness.

Our Work

Recently we received visitors from the International Centre of Insect and Physiology and Ecology (Icipe) - Kenya and The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT - Malawi, who came to appreciate the work we are doing to support people with disabilities in beekeeping. As a gesture of their support, they have donated 5 beehives and paid half of the school fees for children of people with disabilities who are currently studying at Malawi Adventist University, Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (NRC Campus) for this semester. We are grateful for their generous support and look forward to a fruitful collaboration.
